best yoga business podcasts

Starting any business can be daunting, and the yoga business world can be just as confusing as any other. It’s not always as simple as go to the yoga studio and teach, or film a couple of YouTube videos and boom you’ve got a profitable online yoga business.

Part of my mission is creating content to help yoga teachers who want to run a profitable yoga business. That’s why on my weekly podcast I talk a lot about my online business, what I’ve found to be successful, and I interview teachers in the yoga industry with a proven track record of success.

I’ve organized 15 (yes 15!!) of my favorite business centered podcasts here for those entrepreneurial yoga teachers who aren’t sure how to get started. From episodes with inspiring yoga teachers to my own personal experience in the yoga industry, you’ll get an inside look on how to create a profitable yoga business in the yoga community.

Starting Your Yoga Business

Whether you’re a new yoga teacher or a former studio owner who’s been practicing yoga for decades, your mindset can be the biggest obstacle when it comes to your yoga business. Getting started often begins with major mindset work and figuring out who you want to be as a yoga teacher and business owner. The following episodes will help.

Step 1: Stop Holding Yourself Back w/ Episode #299 – Strategies to Slay Imposter Syndrome and Share Your Gifts

It’s easy to get stuck on the hamster wheel of taking “one more training” because you feel like you don’t know enough. Let’s be real, you’re scared to put yourself out there. Imposter syndrome is a real pain and (bad news) it never goes away. But that doesn’t mean you can’t overcome it. Listen for my practical strategies to slay imposter and share your gifts:

🔹How you only need to be a little bit ahead of who you want to help.

🔹Recognizing the thought loops of self-sabotage and how to get over them.

🔹Why there is plenty of room in the yoga industry for new voices.

Think about how you can use these practical steps to stop self-sabotage and negative self talk in their tracks.

Step 2: Get Over The Fear w/ Episode #306 – Fear of Judgment: How to Deal with Being Judged as a Yoga Teacher

Are you overthinking everything you post? Or caught in a cycle of self-sabotage, so worried about how others will judge you? Yoga philosophy tells us the only thing that exists is our consciousness are the stories we tell ourselves. We inflict body-tensing emotions by telling ourselves lies about what we perceive. If you’re a Yogi who wants to overcome the fear of judgment – it’s time to understand that you are not made for everyone and guess what?! That’s okay!

But…how do you actually get to a place where it feels okay? Listen and learn:

🔹The brain’s negativity bias & how to cope with it.

🔹Understanding why your fear of being judged is normal.

🔹Why you want to repel as many people as you attract.

Pull your journal out and write about how you’re going to shift into a place of service.

Step 3: Find The Archetype You Want to Embody w/ Episode #305 – Female Archetypes of Leadership with Anodea Judith Ph.D.

In this episode I talk to my personal mentor and 300-hour guest teacher, Anodea Judith PhD, about female archetypes of leadership. By understanding archetypes, yoga teachers can gain deeper insights into their own behaviors, strengths, and weaknesses. This self-awareness can lead to personal growth and a more authentic expression of leadership in your teaching practice.

Archetypes provide a framework for understanding complex human behaviors and motivations. A yoga teacher who understands these patterns can communicate more effectively with students, staff, and colleagues.

After listening you’ll:

🔹 Figure out your leadership style through female archetypes.

🔹 Know stereotype versus archetype.

🔹 Discover the offerings working with archetypes can bring to your life.

Which female archetype do you plan to work with in your yoga teaching/business? Write it down!

Step 4: Use Self Reflection to Lead w/ Episode #315 – How to Program Your Emotions & LEAP into Success with Dr. Micheline Nader

Most yogis are self aware. But according to Dr. Micheline Nader, Best Selling author of “Leap Beyond Success” and “The Dolphin’s Dance,” self reflection is a huge part of leadership, and that leadership can tie into your own personal development work.

In this episode we discuss how to:

🔹 Accelerate your success by aligning your mindset.

🔹 Figure out what is and is not your intuition.

🔹 Find your “Emotional Logo” & learn to program your emotions.

What did you learn about how your past traumas inform your present-moment decision making?

Step 5: Learn to Honor Your Needs First w/ Episode #320 – Less Is More: How To Honor Yourself & Your Students with Elena Brower

Today, I interview one of my biggest mentors, Elena Brower. I ask her about the tension many of us feel as yoga teachers: How do we honor our own personal practice while still meeting our students’ where they are?

We’ll talk about:

🔹 Embracing change and trusting your inner voice to become a more well-rounded teacher, offering a richer experience for yourself and your students.

🔹 The differences between Buddhism and yoga, but also how they compliment each other.

🔹Crafting time for your own needs and preventing workaholism.
