Does chanting feel weird to you? Maybe you feel vulnerable using your voice in your yoga practice? I’ll be honest, it took me many years before I felt comfortable chanting. Once I began, I never looked back.
Chanting mantras, like Tantric Har, are powerful because they enable you to saturate yourself in a particular feeling or texture of energy. When you vocally project sounds like “HAR” it can even help balance and harmonize energy flow throughout your body. This ability to purposefully align your energy plays a huge part in why Tantric Har is a beloved mantra for people who desire prosperous circumstances.
What Is Tantric Har?
Tantric Har is a mantra that is often used in meditations and kriyas that focus on aligning you with creation (Source, God, you choose!) to bring prosperity into your life. Commonly this mantra is associated with monetary wealth, but prosperity can show up in many different areas or forms in your life.
You may remember from a previous post that I wrote for you about Tantra Yoga that the Sanskrit word tantra means “to weave.” It’s also considered by many people to be a system of practice and a tool for expansion.
Har in the context of this mantra translates to “God”, most specifically to the Creative Infinity aspect of God. When you practice this mantra, I invite you to consider Har as a spark or an initiation. It calls in and ignites the creative force that supports the rise of things and experiences. Another way to think about Har is as a seed. By working with this mantra, you plant a seed and invite it to grow. In this way, you may associate the Tantric Har mantra with the Beej (or Bija) mantras.
Tantric Har is also referred to as Subagh Har meditation. It’s actually the meditation included in the longer Subagh Kriya, which is also a great practice for prosperity!
Why Chant This Tantric Har Mantra
Do you want to increase abundance in an area of your life? Maybe you feel stuck or out of alignment? These are common reasons that bring people to practice the Tantric Har Mantra. Tantric Har is a great way to spark action or positivity in your life.
Tantric Har and the Chakra System
One of the first things that strikes me when chanting Har is that it makes you feel powerful. It is a lot like a slowed down, deliberate, Breath of Fire with sound (which makes it even more potent!).
It’s an internal abdominal massage that activates the navel point. In this way it’s tied to the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) and feelings of strength, personal power, confidence, circulation, and digestion. By working with HAR and the Third Chakra, you spark the Kundalini energy inside of you. This energy is then able to move with more momentum through your body, clearing blockages.
One specific area that benefits from this energy movement is the Heart Chakra (Anahata). Kundalini yoga teaches that prosperity comes through the heart and vocalizing the sound “HA” is said to relax the heart. The combination of Heart relaxation and Solar Plexus activation paves the way for some serious prosperity support.
Har also energetically activates the Throat Chakra (Vishudda) which is associated with communication and expression. You may be surprised to learn that most Uplifted Yoga students tell me that they have blockages in their Throat Chakra. In fact, this congestion of the Throat Chakra is an epidemic, especially for women. Har is a simple and profound mantra that can help you feel empowered to use your voice and speak your truth.

Tantric Har and Palmistry
The Tantric Har Mantra Meditation for Prosperity (instructions below) also stimulates the Moon center, Jupiter and Mercury fingers of your hands. Working with this combination of the Moon and Jupiter is said to create wealth.
You can also think of these Astrological energy archetypes in the following ways:
- The Moon is associated with your emotions, how you nurture and care for yourself, as well as your unconscious.
- Jupiter is jovial and represents growth, expansion, abundance, and wisdom.
- Common Mercury attributes include communication (expression), adaptability, and the mind (cognition, intellect).
Aside from monetary wealth, what other areas of your life do you think could benefit from bolstering these aspects associated with the Moon, Jupiter, or Mercury?
Tantric Har Supports Your Self-Expression
Did you notice that there are two factors of the Tantric Har Mantra Meditation for Prosperity that work to strengthen and align your self-expression?
The energetic impact of Har in the Throat Chakra and the stimulation of the Mercury fingers both reinforce your ability to speak proudly. It is about YOU showing up as your most awesome self. While the prosperity practice can help to align your energy to new opportunities, you still need to be ready, capable, and willing to show up and do your absolute best work to shine and step into the life you want to live.
The added bonus of your yoga practice is that it helps you balance and strengthen your nervous system. When the time comes for you to step into your new opportunity, you will have the nerves of steel to do exactly that with grace.
Tantric Har as a Quasi-Seed Mantra
Let’s return to the idea of Har as a quasi-seed mantra. This frame of thinking is a good reminder to temper your expectations.
Think about your work with this mantra as similar to planting a seed. You need to give that seed time to be nurtured and to grow.
The prosperity instigated by your work with the Tantric Har Mantra may take time to appear above ground in your life. For that reason, this mantra is a great one to incorporate in a 40 Day Kriya practice.
Physiological Benefits of Tantric Har
There are also multiple physiological benefits attributed to practices that involve diaphragmatic breathing like Tantric Har Mantra:
- Core strengthening which improves stability and support for the spine that can lead to better balance, coordination, and reduced back pain.
- Stimulated blood flow aids circulation and nutrient delivery throughout the body.
- Activates the parasympathetic nervous system which promotes relaxation, reduced stress levels, and lower cortisol levels.
- Gentle massage of abdominal organs enhances digestion and reduces bloating.
- Increased energy levels due to better oxygenation of the body.
- Enhanced mind-body connection due to the focus paid to both breath and core engagement. This promotes a deeper connection to your physical and emotional states.

How To Practice Tantric Har Meditation For Prosperity
When you set your intention for this Tantric Har Meditation for Prosperity practice, consider the associations mentioned earlier about the Solar Plexus and Throat Chakras, as well as the Jupiter, Moon and Mercury portions of your hands. What area of your life do you hope this meditation stimulates? Where do you want to apply this energy? Get creative! Monetary wealth is not the only form of prosperity.
Chant with conviction and be flexible with how your intention will materialize in your life. While the fruits of your practice may appear exactly how you imagined them, they may also come to you in the form of great ideas or you may feel like you are galvanized into action. This boost of energy could then allow you to do the work that needs to be done to bring the desired prosperity into your life.
Tantric Har Meditation for Prosperity Steps
Tune In: Always begin your practice with a Tune In using the Adi Mantra. You also have the option of including the Mangala Charan Mantra. For more tips, check out my free workshop, Refine Your Tune In.
Mantra: Har.
- When you chant Har, the tip of your tongue will hit the roof of your mouth when you vocalize the “R”. It may sound like you’re saying “Hud.”
- As you chant, your navel point will come in similar to Breath of Fire to stimulate energy movement.
Posture: Sit in a comfortable position, Easy Pose or on a chair with your feet on the floor. Maintain a tall spine and slight Throat Lock (Jalandhar bandha).
Mudra: This is an active mudra in which you alternatively strike (gently, but firmly) the sides of your hands together.
Begin with your elbows by your sides, forearms at a 45° angle away from your body. Your fingers are level to your throat. Palms face down.
With the palms face down, strike the sides of your index fingers (Jupiter fingers) to touch. Your thumbs will naturally cross, place the right thumb under the left. As your hands strike each other, chant Har.
Bring your hands apart and flip them so that both palms face up. Now bring both hands back together and strike the pinky fingers (Mercury fingers) and the Moon mounds (aim for the sides of the base of the palms). As your hands strike each other, chant Har.
Repeat, begin again by flipping your hands to strike the index fingers and chant Har.
Focus: Close your eyes 9/10th’s of the way, look at the tip of your nose.
Duration: 3 to 11 minutes. More than 11 minutes is said to be “greedy” and not recommended.
To Complete: Hold your hands in front of your heart in the pinky finger and Moon mound strike position. The position is similar to cupping water or reading a book. Inhale and hold your breath in. Exhale and relax. Repeat two more rounds of this breath cycle.
As you work with this meditation, you are welcome to experiment with visualization to personalize your practice. With your focus on the tip of your nose, you may visualize the symbol for the Third Chakra to stabilize your intention. Another option could be that as you chant Har, you can imagine the inward movement of your navel point to your spine as a fireplace bellow that fuels and builds the energy at your Solar Plexus Chakra.
It is easy to chant this Har mantra on your own. If you’d like to practice along with a recording there are many available online. I recommend my Kundalini University (our Kundalini 200 HR Teacher Training) co-teacher Guru Singh’s Har Har Har.

Closing Thoughts
When you incorporate chanting mantra in your yoga practice, it acts as a bridge between the physical and spiritual. Chant, a form of Nada Yoga, invites union through sound vibrations (the Sanskrit term nada means “the flow of pure sound or vibrations”). When you use your voice and unique vibration in this way you are able to promote healing, empowerment, and a deeper connection to both yourself and the universe. Through this deeper connection you become more aligned with what is meant for you and abundance and prosperity abound.
