Jade Harmony Professional Yoga Mat Review | Best in Sticky Yoga Mats
The Jade Harmony Professional Mat retails for $79 and is the ideal combination of cushioning and traction.
While Manduka mats needs to be broken in, Jade mats feel fantastic from day one.
The open-cell construction (as opposed to the close-cell construction of Manduka mats) makes this Jade mat just a little bit stretchier. Jade mats kind of move with you in a really good way.
The material is ecofriendly rubber tap directly from rubber trees. No PBC or chemicals.
Jade mat weighs 4.5 pounds, which is substantial, but still easy enough to carry around.
Even though Jade is technically thinner it feels like it has more cushioning than the Manduka Pro mat, just because of the springy open-cell construction and the rubberiness of the mat.
I gave the Jade Harmony Professional my sweat test. Like the Manduka Pro mat, it does stay sticky when wet, but it still doesn’t offer the dryness and traction of mats specifically designed for hot yoga, like the Gaiam Sol.
Pros are that Jade is the perfect balance of comfort and traction. It’s not too heavy and it holds off well to sweat and moisture.
Cons are that it’s not appropriate to people allergic to latex. It smells strongly of rubber for the first two weeks and depending on your color choice Jade mats can just dirty easily.
Jade is my pick for yogis who want a hybrid mat that has texture and kind of moves with you in a good way but is still sweat proof and water resistant.
