Note these certificates are sent once per month. Please allow up to 30 days to recieve your certificate once all your graduation requirements are complete.
Does this somatic training program have Live Calls to practice teaching somatic movement and techniques?
This is a move at your own pace, at home, self study course that empowers you to start teaching right away. However, if you crave in-person interaction, you will get the unique opportunity to hone your somatic teaching skills even further through a handful of live calls offered in one of my other online trainings. Details and pricing will be included in your welcome packet. We love coming live together as a community for embodiment practices, somatic movement and sharing tips on how to best teach somatic yoga.
Can somatic exercises help with with trauma healing, personal transformation or chronic pain?
Absolutely! This course is not just for those currently teaching yoga; it’s designed to enhance your personal practice as well through somatic movement. Somatic therapy and somatic practices have been proven to improve the immune system, emotional well being, regulate the nervous system, as well as reduce chronic pain. More on the “how” and “why” these somatic skills work inside the course.
Can I move through this course on my own pace? Do I have lifetime access?
YES & YES!! There is zero pressure to have this course completed on a deadline. Move through at your own pace and explore full length classes so you can completely immerse yourself in somatic movement and the somatic approach to yoga. You have access to this training program for life and can refer back to it any time you need a refresher. You’ll also have your teaching manuals.
How is this training different from in person trainings?
An in-person training usually offers their main modules at specific timeframes that require you to set aside entire days or week’s at a time. The beauty of online courses and Uplifted training programs is that you can work through the modules at your own home and the pace that works for you. Trust me, this course is just as comprehensive as an in-person program, and you won’t feel rushed through the material. You’ll get to take the time to really digest everything so that you can start to teach somatic movement with confidence. Plus the ability to pause and rewind. Your nervous system will thank you!
How soon will I be able to teach somatics with this somatics training?
This self paced course is designed to get you teaching as soon as possible. Beyond the comprehensive somatic exercises manual, you’ll receive many written out somatic sequences and feminine form kundalini sequences so you can hit the ground running. Use these “done-for-you” sessions as a lunching off point for your own creativity, or implement them as is.
Beyond embodied poses and sequences, you’ll have the knowledge of somatic principles and a deeper understanding of somatic movement from within your core modules. This allows you to discern what techniques are appropriate for which student and personalize your sessions. The curriculum includes suggested embodiment practices each week, so you gain self awareness of your own body and practice self care with a therapeutic approach.
It’s up to you when you want to implement your new somatic teaching skills, but with this course you’ll have everything you need to get started quickly, including how to pitch yourself to yoga studios. For those of you teaching yoga, this course guides you through all aspects of incorporating somatic movement into your business, as well as provides you with somatic certification.
Can I get a refund on this course if I don’t like it?
Is this the same as a somatic therapy certification?
No. To become a somatic therapist you would ideally complete an undergraduate or master’s degree with specialized training. This program is also not to be confused with a certified yoga therapist program, which can require 800 hours of training on top of your 200 hour certification. Learn more about the difference here: How To Become A Yoga Therapist After Your YTT. This course is designed to educate you in somatic principles and how to incorporate those principles into teaching yoga and your personal practice.
Do I need a background in psychology to be able to teach these skills?
While it can definitely be helpful, a background in psychology is not necessary to start teaching somatic yoga. This course will go over how the brain senses and reacts to stress and trauma as well as the body. You’ll get all of the information you need on the emotional bodies and the body mind connection to start incorporating somatic practices into teaching yoga.
