A Cosmopolitan City-Based Retreat

Florence | July 1 - 7, 2017

Intellectual. Cultural. Spiritual.

This trip is designed to engage you intellectually, spiritually and physically. Our time in Italy will be filled with yoga, art, architecture and exploration. It’s an opportunity for us to spend time together (both one-on-one, and in a powerful group) to take your practice to the next level. We’ll be going in-depth into the Renaissance time period and draw parallels between art and what is happening within us as a means to transform.

COUPLES – this vacation provides you with enough structure to feel everything is “taken care of,” but with free time and private meals to connect just the two of you.

YOUNGER FOLKS – explore Florence’s nightlife & social scene

EVERYONE INBETWEEN – journal in cafes, drink tea with me, walk cobblestone streets, lounge in our pool and reconnect with the beauty of life.

It was great to have Brett as a guide in Italy because of her previous experience living there. It was amazing discovering Italy while including yoga in my daily practice. Emily L.

Daily Excursions

Brett treated us all like sisters right from the start! We got the inside track on the best of what to see and when. Beginning the day with our yoga practice was so uplifting. As a beginner, I felt safe and stretched in just the right way.

Exactly what to expect

Details on what’s included and what’s not

What to Budget for in Italy (Outside of Retreat Fee)

(1) Daily lunch for yourself ($12 – $30 depending where you want to each lunch day). I’ll be suggesting mainly inexpensive cafe options (panini, salads).

(2) Transport to and from Florence airport ($15 for shuttle options or $35 for a taxi).

(3) Dinner the other 3 nights of the trip. I will be offering suggestions of where to eat and our hotel can also guide you. Many of us may choose to eat as a group on these nights as well.

(4) Some church entry fees ($4 – $5). Most are included. Optional if you want to go into every church.

I came out of Italy with new friends, a healthier diet, renovated energy, and dreams for the future. The topic of ‘rebirth’ was great and resonated a lot with me. I would definitely recommend this experience. Bianca P.

FAQ

Who is this trip for?

If you study with me on Youtube and want to explore Italy, this trip is for you!

Is it for a specific age group?

No, all ages are welcome. This more casual trip is the perfect balance of scheduled vs. free time. Everyday there will be yoga, meditation, casually guided walks, and church, museum or city visits. Everything is optional! We will have the opportunity in yoga and at three group dinners to bond with one another, but there is ample time to also enjoy Florence on your own. Married couples who attend can enjoy romantic strolls and dinners. Younger, single folks can explore Florence nightlife. Anyone traveling alone who just wants to talk about yoga and drink tea is always welcome to hang out with me.

Do I have to be a certain level of yoga?

No. Every yoga class will be taught in the Vinyasa Flow tradition with a heavy focus on alignment. Sequences will be designed to heat and detoxify and each session will end with breath work and meditation. I’ll customize instructions for every fitness level and provide personal attention to each traveler. Beginners are always welcome. We’ll be meditating too.

What does “shared room double accommodation” mean?

It means you will have 1 roommate – AKA if you’re coming alone, you will be matched with a roommate of your age and gender. You will have your own hotel room, each with your own bed. If you are coming as a married couple, your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend is your roommate and you will have a queen bed and your own hotel room.

What if I have an injury?

I will help you adjust your practice as necessary and be able to give you hands-on help and adjustments. Please note that this tour is very active in terms of walking. If you cannot walk or struggle to walk distances of a mile or more, this trip may not be a good fit for you.

How do I get there?

Fly into Florence Airport airport (FLR). One-stop round-trip airfare from the US averages between $1200 – $1600 for an economy-class ticket from New York or Los Angeles. The cost of airfare will fluctuate, but I’ll keep an eye on prices and let you know when it is time to book you airfare.

Arrival/Departure

Check-in begins at 3pm on July 1, the start date of our tour. Send me your flight itinerary after you book. We must check-out of our hotel on July 7th at which point you can book to fly home from Florence airport, stay on in our hotel for the weekend, or explore Rome and other Italian cities. After 10am on July 7th, our retreat is technically done (although you may leave bags at the hotel and continue to enjoy Florence if you have a later flight.)

Can I bring my husband, boyfriend or friend who doesn’t do yoga?

Yes. The price is the same, but all activities (including yoga) are optional. As long as YOU are committed to coming to yoga, we’re good.

Remind me again what’s NOT included in the price?

International airfare, transfer to and from airport (I will provide detailed instructions on all options from shuttle to cab), alcohol (table wine will be free at some group dinners), some church entrance fees, lunches, three dinners AKA around $375 on top of the retreat fee, assuming you eat at modestly priced places. If you plan to splurge and eat at nice, expensive restaurants the nights we aren’t eating as a group, I’d budget an extra $500.

How do I secure my spot?

Place your deposit here. If minimum number of participants is not met, you’ll be notified by February 15th and receive a full refund. If you cancel or or change your plans, 50% of the deposit is refundable before February 15th. After February 15th, final payment is due and no refunds are issued.

When do I pay for the rest of the trip? How does the payment plan work?

Your $600 deposit holds your spot. $688 is due February 15 and April 15 (earliest bird).

Payment Plan Option: $600 holds your spot. The balance is divided into 4 payments of $437.50 due February 15th, March 15th, April 15th, and May 15th (based on early bird rate of $2350).

I don’t want a roommate – can I stay in a private room?

Yes, place your deposit here and then email to let me know you want a private room. Rates for a private room are $2875 (Early), $3175 (Regular) Your final balance due will be more, and I can give you an exact quote over email.
